Copaiba balsam is a resinous oleoresin tapped from Copaifera trees in the Amazon rainforest of South America. The scent is soft, balsamic, and subtly woody with a gentle sweetness and a clean, almost peppery freshness.

In perfumery, copaiba balsam provides a smooth, understated balsamic quality that rounds out compositions and extends longevity. It is less heavy than benzoin or Peru balsam.

Copaiba pairs well with other resins, woods, florals, and citrus.
