Palisander Rosewood

Palisander, or rosewood, is a precious tropical hardwood prized for its warm, sweet, slightly floral woody aroma. The essential oil extracted from rosewood has a uniquely beautiful character that combines the warmth of wood with a rosy, slightly spicy sweetness.

However, severe deforestation led to strict international protections, making natural rosewood oil increasingly rare and expensive. Sustainable alternatives from cultivated trees and synthetic recreations are now commonly used.

In perfumery, rosewood adds an elegant, warm-floral woodiness that brings refinement to any composition. It works beautifully as a heart or base note, bridging floral and woody ingredients seamlessly.

Rosewood pairs wonderfully with rose, geranium, other woods, citrus, and spices. It is a staple in oriental, woody-floral, and classic feminine fragrances where its sophisticated sweetness adds a touch of luxury.
