Main Accords

Smells Like — Like dark oud wood and Turkish roses in a cedar-lined room, rich and exotic.

Christian Dior Oud Ispahan is a magnificent rose-oud composition from Dior's prestigious La Collection Privee. Released in 2012 as a unisex Eau de Parfum, this fragrance takes its name from Isfahan, the legendary Persian city famous for its roses, and pairs that ancient floral tradition with the equally ancient tradition of oud wood.

The opening is warm and resinous. Labdanum provides a sweet, amber-like richness that sets an immediately luxurious tone.

Saffron, patchouli, cedar, sandalwood, and agarwood all appear as general notes throughout the composition, meaning their presence is constant from the very first moment. The heart is a beautiful marriage of rose and oud.

Rose provides its classic floral beauty, rich and honeyed, while oud adds its distinctive dark, woody, slightly medicinal complexity. Patchouli deepens the earthy character, and saffron contributes warm, metallic spiciness.

This combination of rose and oud is one of the oldest and most revered pairings in Middle Eastern perfumery, and Dior presents it here with French elegance and sophistication. The base builds on agarwood, sandalwood, and cedar, three different woods that each contribute unique qualities: agarwood dark and complex, sandalwood creamy and smooth, cedar dry and structured.

Together, they create a woody foundation of remarkable depth and beauty. With dominant oud, rose, and woody accords, Oud Ispahan is a fragrance that bridges Eastern opulence and Western refinement.

The moderate amber, warm spicy, patchouli, and balsamic qualities add further richness. It is a fragrance for evening wear, for cooler months, and for moments when you want to wear something that feels truly precious.

One of the finest rose-oud compositions available at any price.
